AtmospHERE - Ice Sculpture

Form and light manipulated through experimental temporary structures. Ice bar cast within a waterproof fabric formwork held in tension with ropes using traditional sailing knots. The bar was paired with an ephemeral ice table which appeared as if it was a floating table cloth, only 1 centimeter in thickness in some locations, the table was constructed by misting cheesecloth to achieve the final form.

This installation was featured for several months during extreme cold of winter in Winnipeg, Manitoba, during the day it was met with curiosity and wonder, and the glowing sculptures offered brightness and incited celebration during the long nights.

MYgloo - Light Installation - People's Choice

This installation was born out of a desire to bring community together during the dark winter months in Edmonton, Alberta and explore a material study of mylar as a medium to diffuse street light and shape our environment.

We discovered that overlaying the mylar impacted light intensity and re-orienting the mylar created a compelling gradient of light. This lead us to experiment with origami,

resulting in and adaptive form that merges with it's environment to make something altogether new each time it is installed. This responsive installation lived on beyond it's initial time within the park space it was created for, acting as a welcoming light feature in an architecture lobby, an exciting ceiling treatment for a dance club and finally a gallery space.
